1974 US Inaugural Gerald R. Ford Medal

This medal commemorates a remarkable moment in American history. Just eight months after becoming Vice President following Spiro Agnew's resignation, Gerald Ford ascended to the presidency when Richard Nixon stepped down. Notably, Ford was the first U.S. President to take office without being formally elected by the public. The medal features an antique bronze patina finish and measures 2.75 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick. The obverse displays a profile of Mr. Ford facing left, while the reverse showcases an eagle with its claws extended and wings forming a V, with the Presidential seal superimposed.
