Seen on this coin, the natural zodiac wheel is arranged like a compass pointed downward, with Aries being the first sign of the zodiac to rise over the eastern horizon (at the 9 o’clock position), followed by the 11 other signs.

Enhanced with vibrant colours and metallic gold paint, the reverse design by Jori van der Linde features an intertwined sun and moon engraved at the centre of a celestial circle, which is divided into 30-degree sections that house each of the 12 western zodiac signs (counterclockwise from the 9 o’clock position): Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Set against a deep blue night sky filled with stars, the zodiac signs are rendered in an illustrative style and paired with their engraved glyph, which appears in the inner ring.
