The 2025 Perth Mint Kookaburra features a striking new design as well as .9999 fine purity! 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of the first Kookaburra, which is commemorated by a Privy of the 1990 Kookaburra design on this coin!

This 2025 Silver Kookaburra illustrates a kookaburra perched on a tree branch. To commemorate the 35th anniversary of Kookaburra's first release, the privy mark  features the 1990 Kookaburra design. Also adorning this reverse is the year, purity and "Kookaburra" inscription. Each coin includes a security feature in the coin's design that is only detectable with a magnifying glass. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Dan Thorne. Also included on the obverse is the monetary denomination. 

The Australian Silver Kookaburra series from the Perth Mint began in 1990 and is the longest-running bullion program from the mint. Each year has a different design of a kookaburra on the reverse.

A laughing kookaburra, the largest member of the kingfisher species, is synonymous with the Australian outback. The Perth Mint is pleased to present three bullion coins featuring the kookaburra, meticulously struck from 99.99% pure Silver in 1 kilo, 10 oz and 1oz sizes.

Not only are designs changed on the bullion coins each year, the Proof designs vary each year as well! Historically, the mintage of each 1 oz bullion Silver Kookaburra coin has been a maximum of 300,000 coins. However, in 2011 the maximum mintage was moved to 500,000 coins to accommodate the very high demand for this series. Compared to other Silver bullion coin series, this mintage is still very small and has helped ensure the collectability of each coin.
