2024 Canada $50 Maple Leaves in Motion Fine Silver (No Tax)
Please note that there is a limit of ONE per customer for this coin.
Two combined technologies, one unforgettable leaf.
For 2024, the Royal Canadian Mint is introducing a new tech pairing that has never been seen before on a 5 oz. fine silver coin. Struck incuse, the maple leaf on the coin’s reverse radiates a brilliant shine that is amplified by the black rhodium plated field, which repeats on the obverse. Look closely, and you’ll notice laser-engraved maple leaves are scattered throughout the field. They’re easy to miss, because the dark background alters the way the light reflects off the coin’s surface, grabbing your attention and focusing it on the shiny, incused maple leaf that proudly symbolizes Canada.
This incused maple leaf shines brightly against a black rhodium field.
The natural range of Acer saccharum, the sugar maple, extends east from Lake of the Woods (on the Ontario-Manitoba border) and southwestern Ontario to Maritime Canada.
The coin’s reverse features a finely engraved sugar maple (Acer saccharum) leaf designed by Canadian artist Donna Kriekle and struck incuse. On both sides of the coin, black rhodium plating fills the field, which is marked by a laser-engraved maple leaf pattern. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins and the double date of her reign.

Special Features:
- A modern classic. Your coin features an incuse strike and a black rhodium plated field – a new tech pairing not seen before on a 5 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin.
- Black rhodium plating. For maximum contrast, black rhodium plating fills the field on both sides of the coin. The effigy on the obverse and the maple leaf on the reverse offer the only glimpses of the coin’s shiny silver surface.
- Struck incuse. Further emphasizing the highlights and shadows, the prominent maple leaf on your coin’s reverse has been struck incuse to add outstanding depth to the design.
- A sellout every year. The combination of a classically Canadian design and modern engraving technologies makes our Maple Leaves in Motion coin a popular annual issue – in fact, it has sold out every year since the series began.
- Maple leaf pattern. In keeping with the maple leaf theme, both sides of the coin feature a captivating laser-engraved maple leaf pattern.
- Low mintage. Only 2,000 coins are available to collectors worldwide.
