As the largest bird in Australia and the second largest in height, after the Ostrich, the Emu adores the reverse of this Australian coin. Emus can be found throughout Australia in many different types of habitates and mostly eat grass flowers, seeds and insects. The 2024 Australia $1 Emu 1oz. .999 Silver Coin is the seventh release in the Emu Series. 

The reverse illustrates depicts an adult Australian emu standing on a grassy sand dune with waves crashing in the background. The design also includes the inscription "Australian Emu," the year-date, weight and purity. Also included in this design is the 'P125' mint mark signifying The Perth Mint's 125th anniversary. The obverse features bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, the face value, year-date, weight and fineness.
