The 2020 George Herbert Walker Bush Presidential Dollar continues the iconic 2007 through 2016 USA Presidential Dollar Series. George H.W Bush was the 41st President of the United States of America.
Prior to becoming President, George H.W Bush was apart of the U.S Navy during the Second World War. For his service in the U.S Navy, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Navy Air Medal with two gold stars. He later went to Yale University and graduated in 1948 with a degree in economics. After gaining his degree, the former President moved from Massachusetts to Texas with his wife Barbara and their eldest son, George Walker.
Later in life, George W.H Bush enjoyed a long public service career. During his career he was a Member of Congress, Ambassador to the United Nations, and the Director of central Intelligence. From 1981-1989, Bush served as the Vice President of the United States before becoming President from 1989-1993. During his presidential term, George W.H Bush achieved the following:
The obverse of the George H.W Bush Dollar featured his portrait surrounded by the required inscriptions. Around the outer edge of the coin appeared his name, "In God We Trust", "41st President", and the years served "1989-1993. The reverse of the coin included an image of the Statue of Liberty with inscriptions "United States of America" and "$1".
