This fine silver coin is certified to be 99.99% pure silver with a diameter of 38 millimeters and a weight of 31.39 grams. The reverse image by Royal Canadian Mint engraver Konrad Wachelko presents in the finest detail a single large snowflake against the coin's polished silver field.
Each of the snowflake's six delicate arms is rendered with unerring attention to the snowflake's crystalline texture. The heart of the snowflake is embedded with a clear, six-sided Swarovski crystal element that recalls the snowflake's beautiful symmetry. This reverse is engraved with the word 'CANADA' and the year '2012.' The obverse features the face value of '20 DOLLARS' as well as the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
