HMS Shannon- $2 coin
On June 1, 1813, the HMS Shannon defeated the USS Chesapeake in an 11-minute battle. The capture of the Chesapeake marked a decisive naval victory at a time when morale was waning.
Sir Isaac Brock- 25-cent coloured coin
Major-General Sir Isaac Brock fell as he bravely led the charge to take back Queenston Heights. Remembered as the Hero of Upper Canada, his death inspired a people to fight back
Tecumseh- 25-cent coloured coin
Shawnee warrior, Tecumseh, united his native allies to fight alongside the British at the Battle of Fort Detroit. By making his army appear larger than it was, he helped take the city from the Americans.
Charles-Michel de Salaberry- 25-cent coloured coin
Charles-Michel de Salaberry recruited the men of Lower Canada, training them as the Voltigeurs Canadiens. Under his command, the Voltigeurs prevented the Americans from taking Montreal - twice.
Laura Secord- 25-cent coloured coin
Overhearing plans of an American invasion, Laura Secord walked 30 kilometres through forest and swamp, warning the British troops and their native allies, helping stop the Americans.
