2006 Canada First Day Cover Lucky Loon

At the 2002 Olympic Winter Games a great Canadian story emerged when a Loonie was secretly buried at centre ice in Salt Lake City, covertly urging Canada's men's and women's Olympic hockey teams on to gold performances. Since then, the idea has been catching on, and from coast to coast community sport teams have taken to concealing loonies for luck. The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to celebrate this unique moment in Canadian history, as well as supporting Canadian athletes with a new Lucky Loonie collectible coin. 20,010 First Day Strike Lucky Loonies are carefully packaged in a unique, serialized collectible folder.
