2000 Natural Legacy - May Commemorative 25-Cents Original Roll
Open to all Canadians, The Royal Canadian Mint held a contest in which contestants were asked to submit designs for 24 millennium 25-cent coins, one for each month of the year from 1999 to 2000. The coins for the 1999 year were meant to reflect on the country’s past while the 2000 designs looked to the future. The design chosen for the 25-Cent Natural Legacy Coins was designed by Randy Trantau. The coin features a design representing clean air, fresh water, healthy wildlife and thriving forests. It is surrounded with the bilingual inscriptions "CANADA" and "NATURAL LEGACY 2000 PATRIMOINE NATUREL". Each roll contains 40 Royal Canadian Mint issued 25-cent coins for circulation.
