2000 Creativity - October Commemorative 25-Cents Original Roll
Open to all Canadians, The Royal Canadian Mint held a contest in which contestants were asked to submit designs for 24 millennium 25-cent coins, one for each month of the year from 1999 to 2000. The coins for the 1999 year were meant to reflect on the country’s past while the 2000 designs looked to the future. The design featured on the Creativity 25-Cent Coin features Canadian explorers in a canoe. This reverse design is complemented by an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II which was created by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. Each roll contains 40 Royal Canadian Mint issued 25-cent coins for circulation.
