Issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Vancouver and the arrival of the first trans-Canada train in Vancouver. Canadian Pacific Engine No.371 was the first to arrive in 1886.

By 1886, the Canadian Pacific Railway Company made a decision to extend the trans-Canada line further to the country's Western region to Vancouver. This, in an effort to take advantage of more sophisticated harbor as well as terminal. In the long run, this played a key role in improving Vancouver's economy as well as other parts of the country. Canadian Pacific Engine No.371 was the first to arrive in 1886.
