During 1977 the Queen celebrated the 25th anniversary of her accession to the throne. Many countries, including Canada, recognized the event with a special Commemorative coin. The design on the reverse depicts the throne of the Senate of Canada, which is used by the Queen of the Governor General for ceremonial occasions.
